Fascinating... The magical fantasy storytelling with the animation filmmaking brilliance of Makoto Shinkai (writer & director) is enough to make anyone mesmerized in his stories. As always Makoto Shinkai tends to portray a story where he can intertwine it with nature and human emotions in a subtle manner. It's not just about love in a fantasy storytelling, but weather symbolises the dire reality of climate change that we are facing now and it can become even worse in future, if we don't act accordingly. Also, weather symbolises the emotions of lead characters, where rain, thunder, storm, has been used to convey character's emotions. I love this anime film for its subtlety and soothing nature, it's heartwarming and brilliantly translates its story into screenplay though it follows the structure of ‘Your Name (2016)’ too much and it can be hard to follow cause of its pacing in screenplay.

Since Weathering with You takes place in the same universe as Your Name, it’s fair to enter with similar expectations. The premise is intriguing — a girl with the supernatural ability to control the weather, but at a cost. It’s a concept that blends fantasy with modern life, and one that allows for both wonder and tragedy. The first half is solid. We’re introduced to Hodaka and Hina, and the story takes its time establishing their circumstances and motivations. Their decision to build a business around Hina’s abilities is creative, and the progression of their bond feels natural. It’s a well-paced setup that draws you in. However, the second half loses its footing. The plot begins to feel rushed — particularly the abrupt romantic escalation between Hodaka and Hina, and the sudden intensity of the police pursuit. These developments lack proper buildup, leading to moments that feel more forced than impactful. The narrative leans too heavily on coincidence and spectacle, which weakens the premise’s initial strength. Technically, the film excels. The animation is visually stunning, filled with detail and atmosphere that only Makoto Shinkai can deliver. RADWIMPS once again provides a fitting and immersive soundtrack, and the voice acting is consistently strong. While Weathering with You isn’t without merit, it ultimately doesn’t reach the same level as Your Name. It has moments of brilliance — both visually and narratively — but they’re undercut by structural issues and a second half that doesn’t quite stick the landing. A commendable effort, but one that leaves the feeling it could’ve been more.

El tiempo contigo. Linda historia que nos cuenta la vida de Hodaka, un joven que escapa de su casa en una isla para ir a Tokio, impulsado por un sentimiento de conocer a esa persona especial, por otro lado, tenemos a Hina que es una chica que un trágico día descubrió que podía controlar el clima, pero ese control tiene un alto costo. Cuando se conocen poco a poco se dan cuenta que son el uno para el otro y que la soledad ya no será su compañera. El amor florece entre los 2 y a medida que este crece descubren que el don de Hina le está costando su vida y deben enfrentar decisiones que desafían lo natural por amor y esperanza. Visualmente deslumbrante y atrapante, la banda sonora hace el trabajo correcto en cada escena y nos transporta a los que viven sus personajes. La película combina romance, fantasía y crítica social, explorando temas como el cambio climático, la soledad y el sacrificio. Más que un animé es una historia donde el amor se impone ante todo.
