What blood chaos was this! I love the idea of this movie, it makes for some really cool scenes and fights. I’m not going to try think about it too much, or ill start questioning how having full power of your brain can effect time, or why it was okay that she straight up murdered a bunch of people….but it was a cool concept.

Lucy gets caught up in a deal, which leads to her digesting a substance that gives her the ability to use up to 100% of her brain. This film is a commentary on the human mind and the theory of what could happen if we can use more than 10% of it. For example, if we use 20% we have the ability to read several books and can communicate to other people via tellvisons and other electrical devices within seconds. Also, we can smell and feel things from our memories, which happened years ago. I think that is a really interesting and cool concept. There are several great visual effects and CGI such as the universe, the creation of life, and the first ever women to ever exist. A scene that shows great visual effects, is when Lucy sees all the phone calls as large lines that go up towards the atmosphere and she moves them with her finger or when she shows the scientists how she can change into different species with her hand. It's just very impressive and ahead of its time. The music is another positive as it's very moving and relates to the situation our characters are in within the plot. In one scene, when Lucy is on the phone to her mom on the operating table, the score is unworldy and unnerving, which connects with our protagonist as she is becoming less human. Gaining new and unworldy abilities. The theme also captures her emotion, her fear, and how it's all new and scary for her even if we don't see her acting that way. An ability she doesn't want but has. It's more of a curse than a gift with the theme having a cold and spine tingling nature. There are some great cinematography and clever editing techniques in the film that show how dedicated the creators were. A great editing technique, was when the blue substance goes into her body and we get a extreme close up on Lucy eye as it changes between different animals and unhuman eye colours until it goes back to normal. Additionally, the camera rotates while it changes in a circular motion, which could symblise how life is on a cycle or just the movement of planet earth. The lighting is very impressive and like the music helps show us what she's feeling in that situation. An example is when she's held hostage in a bunker. It's cold and damp, and the film receives a cold blue tint to show how bad it is and how powerless Lucy is. However, once she gets out and her brain develops, the lighting becomes brighter as she feels unstoppable to show her gaing power over not just her body but her mind. The characters are fun and interguing to watch as they are all relatable, and it's truly remarkable what Lucy can do throughout the film using her knowledge. Morgan Freeman is great as the professor who talks about the human mind as I think he's perfect for the role. However, the antagonists aren't that impressive, and the main villain is very one dimensional. Overall, it's a magnificent film with a great concept, cinematography, sound design and it's just visually stunning to watch.

Writing: The script of "Lucy" is funny yet serious, and it's written and performed really well. The conversations are both interesting and funny, mixing comedy with drama and crime. The script was truly clever and meaningful, getting a 10/10 from my side. Music: The music in "Lucy" is really cool and fits the movie's futuristic feel. The cyberpunk vibe songs make it even more exciting, improving the whole experience. The music in the movie is not just background noise. It plays an important role in setting the mood for each scene. Cinematography: The cinematography in "Lucy" has two distinct parts. The beginning of the movie feels exaggerated and like a parody, similar to Bollywood films. However, this "unprofessional" approach strangely works, keeping a serious tone despite the dramatics. The second part of the movie changes things up, showing visually impressive action scenes that are surreal and unrealistic. The police car chase scene is really exciting. The movie is 1 hour and 30 minutes long, which is just the right length for a tight and engaging story. Overall: "Lucy" is a unique sci-fi movie that combines surreal elements, exciting action, and a thought-provoking story. The film is unique and memorable because of its storytelling and visuals. It stands out from other films in its category.
