Detachment is a bleak depiction of the dark world of young kids turning obsolete in real time due to various things but most importantly a lack of guidance that drives them in right path. Adrien bloody embodied the pain & suffering of a soul who's so alone in the entire world, livin' a life like a mere ghost passing through buildings. Detachment was a hard hitting film that throws light on an impending issue which is not just isolated within bounds of United States but of whole world wherever young kids are forced to grow a lonely & clarity less path
Detachment might be one of the most painful, important movies ever made. Pain, uncertainty, and discomfort are part of living. But we are not taught that. At an early age, they show us fairy tales and tell us that we can be anything. They tell us that we will be happy. And then they do not educate us. Educating is not only teaching the national school program. Educating is, more importantly, guidance to living. More than teachers, people in the process of learning need mentors. Experienced, qualified people to teach us all the traditional subjects but also critical thinking and capable of supporting us emotionally when necessary. This kind of mentoring is needed even in college. Students are not only learning what they have to in school; they are also learning how to live. They grow up and eventually have to face that happiness is not the only thing that awaits them in life. It's such a shame: we should be taught that pain, uncertainty, and discomfort don't make happiness impossible. Instead, we are told that these human feelings are wrong, and we are broken or in the wrong place in life if we are experiencing them. We should be taught that life is hard and it hurts, but we are capable of facing it. We should be taught that we are all beautiful, complex beings worthy of respect, and we should not accept being hurt or go on in life hurting anyone. But many times we will feel difficult things that are not anyone's fault, and that's normal, too. We should learn to be a community, to care for each other. We should learn that the process of learning is important, precious, something worth the occasional discomfort of it. I want to be a college teacher, and I'm so scared. I know how young and in need of guidance many people that enter college are. How utterly unprepared for learning, and for living. And it seems our government likes it that way, because at least in Brazil, the quality of education has been scarily dropping. How can I make any difference if I myself haven't been prepared and don't know how to live?
