Hay gente que dice que es muy mala, pero yo soy de distinta opinión. Estos "zombies" dan muy mal rollo, son listos y rápidos, y contagian rápido. Lo malo es que los militares son peores que los zombies... esos si que dan miedo XD

I think this is the first real horror film on this list? I'm not a huge fan of the genre really, but there are some films, like this, that are just so interesting, have such a good premise, and are executed to this high degree that you cant help but love them. This just proves that not all cheap horror films are rubbish.

The last third was a bit of a let down for me. Until then it really was atmospheric. But the revenge part was too much of a stretch for me.

In a film about a virus outbreak & zombies, humans are still the most dangerous beings. Says more about human connection & feral tendencies than surviving a post-apocalyptic world infested with half-dead people. The film was shot on a camcorder, but still looks so amazing with it’s brilliant double exposures and compositions you can’t help but appreciate it.

8.2/10 Something that 28 Days Later does very well is keeping the audience on their toes. The movie never lets a good moment play out in the first two acts. It always gets you with a zombie coming out of nowhere to ruin the characters’ safe mindset. I also like that this is a smaller scale apocalypse story. No saving the world, no curing the Rage virus, etc. It’s just Jim and Selena trying to survive. Obviously they do have a goal, but that goal isn’t anything world-altering. The soundtrack definitely creates an eerie atmosphere and the score fits the action well. There are some shots that look incredibly fake, but otherwise, the cinematography is decent. Nothing amazing, but it’s serviceable. The action and horror elements go together well. The movie puts the characters in some classic zombie situations, like getting stuck in a tunnel with them, for example. It’s pretty intense.

28 Days Later Retro Review Introduction So my local Cineworld is doing a Danny Boyle season, so I jumped at the chance to watch 28 Days Later on the big screen. I'd previously classed 28 Days later as Boyle's best work. But does it hold up 22 years later? Or was it an overrated cult classic? Let's break it down. Positives It's a zombie film but it's a different breed compared to most. This is why it gained a great reputation back in the day. In fact you don't ever actually ever see a zombie eat someone, they're rage infused & it's more of a psychological virus than a dead being wandering around. That's not to say there isn't gruesome parts, I had to actually look away when Murphy shoves his thumbs in someone's eyes, but it's horror is far more effective as tension ramps up through clever camera work & desolate settings. It's truly impressive how much of London is shown abandoned. The 5 million budget is used so effectively that the grittiness actually adds to the raw nature of the film. Casting unknowns at the time of filming also adds to the feel that this isn't your typical zombie film. Brendan Gleason being the only truly well known actor at the time adds some experience but it's Cillian Murphy & Naomie Harris that steal the show. Both went on to have amazing careers & their acting here has to be that catalyst. Cillian's character Jim who has been in a coma when the virus began is basically the viewers POV & Harris has the best arc of the bunch from a person who does anything to survive, to a person that realizes there is more to live for when surrounded by people you truly care about. Christopher Eccleston comes into the movie in the last act & is damn near perfect as Major Henry West, a leader with a sinister undertone. The final act is amazing as everything reaches breaking point. The way Jim embodies the rage of the infected as he goes on a rampage to save the people he's grown to care for is expertly handled by Boyle. The camera work, the setting, the acting & that stunning use of In the House - In A Heartbeat is one of the best uses of music in a horror film ever. A true British classic that everyone should see. Negatives Jesus Christ Megan Burn as Hannah was awful. She has the same monotone voice throughout. Wether it being *spoilers* a reaction to her dad's death, a speech about sticking together that should've be rousing or when she's drugged, it's as flat as they come. She brought me out of the film & I was even questioning if they'd dubbed her voice. Some of the soldiers are also just stereotypes that are there to be fodder in the last act. I've praised what they managed to achieve with the budget but some audiences may find the film too gritty, I didn't but it's an argument I can understand if someone has it. Last little negative the alternate ending, although bleak, is a far better ending i.m.o. Final thoughts 28 Days later was so refreshing at the time of release & 22 years on its still a fantastic horror film. Those who want flesh eating zombies may be turned off but go in for a gritty survival horror & you'll enjoy yourselves immensely, just ignore Hannah if you can 😂 28 Days Later gets 8 understandable flashes of Cillian Murphy's balls as opposed to Oppenheimer outta 10 from me
