never stops being a classic. timeless and terrifying! i love horror that makes me cry in the end
I didn't expect this movie to be so well made, given the script it has. I'm not saying it's a bad plot, but it's a story that corresponds to a horror movie and that's it. However, Amenábar is a box of surprises and without you realizing it, he manages to sneak some exquisite technical aspects under the table. Photography, Sound, Direction and a Production Design straight out of a movie in awards season. The movie has a lot of tension, leaving you on the edge of your seat. The plot twist is predictable and unoriginal, but even if you already knew it, you want to see how it all ends. And I admit that the ending is a bit weak, but the journey is almost entirely enjoyable. Nicole Kidman's performance is good, as is the rest of the cast. Of the elements highlighted above, if you ask me to choose just one, I'll take the Cinematography, leaving an honorable mention for the Sound. The lighting is another character in the movie, leaving traces of scenes that seem to come out of the imagination of Goya and Caravaggio, with a beautiful and effective tenebrism. The Others is recommended for those looking for tense paths with suspense and horror as companions.
