Una magnífica película fantástica de aventuras con una gran historia y personajes entrañables que se recuerdan para siempre. Para mi gusto, supera a "La Historia Interminable", esta se hace mucho más entretenida. Un clásico "imperdible".

Back on the big screen to celebrate its 40th Anniversary and it was one of the busiest cinema screenings I’ve been to in a long time. A testament to just how much of a cult classic this has become! Nostalgia can only take one so far and it has to be said that Labyrinth certainly won’t be for everyone today. It shows it’s age in places, the acting is questionable at times and it is extremely silly and trippy in ways that may not appeal to modern audiences. (I imagine watching this film high would be quite the experience!) The costume department could perhaps have got David Bowie some less revealing trousers too… If you know, you know. But despite the shortcomings, this is still an iconic film full of fun, laughs and fantastical adventure. It is an absolute masterclass in practical effects and puppetry that is just teeming with Jim Henson’s limitless passion and imagination. Every time I watch it I lament the fact that there really isn’t anything like it these days and there doesn’t seem to be much of an appetite for it, the closest we got was The Dark Crystal series on Netflix and they went and cancelled that, and I’m still not over that tragedy. There is just an infectious, magical charm with these kind of films that can’t be captured or recreated today. It is why Labyrinth is still so popular. I’m still praying for a comeback of that classic Henson style, and I’ll never stop.

The Maze Runner: David Bowie Edition! David Bowie enchants with a lot of CROTCH, while a very young Jennifer Connelly impresses too. David Bowie plays Jareth the Goblin King, a magical creature who can only be described as...David Bowie. That guy could do whatever he wanted to do with me in his magic Goblin Castle! Who doesn’t love David Bowie (beware of the bulge though!), Jennifer Connelly and a host of weird and wonderful characters? This is a must see for any fans of fairytales or musicals! The creatures designed by director Jim Henson are exactly what any child could only dream of. Every aspect of wonder, magic and enchantment are present and enjoyable for the whole family. When I first saw this film it quickly became a favourite to watch many times over. Fun, entertaining and above all, captivating for the young and the young at heart! Taking inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, and even Cinderella, Labyrinth manages to stand strong on it’s own. What I love about Labyrinth is how atmospheric it is. The whole film is absolutely drenched in pure imagination. From the wildly imaginative puppetry, to the sets, practical effects, the catchy and memorable songs, and of course the characters. There is honestly so much to love here! Of course, Jennifer Connelly and especially David Bowie are the stars here, but joining them in this Labyrinth are an assortment of wacky and crazy characters such as Hoggle who is what every young woman needs in a friend… An old wrinkled treacherous leach who follows her around like an unwanted STI! There’s the gentle giant Ludo, Sir Didymus and his not so trusty sidekick Ambrosius, the hilarious Fire Gang, The Wise Man, the Door Knockers, and the stinky Bog of Eternal Stench. Beware of the Stench! With real artistry involved, there is exuberance and charm to it which is why it has stood the test of time. I can still to this day sit down and enjoy the film because I remember what the film tries to teach us: “Just do as I say and I will be your slave.”
