Una película que describe el espíritu de libertad, la conocida "vida de moteros". Se podría considerar una película sobre la cultura del metal, si no fuera porque la película es anterior al estilo de música, aunque comparten la raíz de la ideología. La verdad es que la película tiene bastante relleno, y se pasan bastante en el tema de las drogas, pero vale la pena ver la película completa solo por ver el trozo en el que sale Jack Nicholson, todo ese trozo es magnífico. La conversación sobre el odio a la gente libre es el tema principal de la película, y llena de orgullo oirlo. En fin, una película que hay que ver.

What an uncomfortable ride it would be, on the back of Fonda's hard-tailed motorcycle. Billy & Wyatt travel cross country and hit all walks of life in America: good, bad, and ugly. Some wild editing and scene transitions bring us along this journey that's rough around the edges but takes a hold of you with a bangin soundtrack and lets these unorthodox characters grow on you. I like Hopper's vision overall and holy shit what an ending. Evokes a lot of feelings of being thrown away if you don't meet society's norms or just want to do your own thing. Short, sweet, and to the point with characters and subtle excess to spare. "If god did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." First Watch- I finally got to it! 313/500 movies & tv for 2024

I had to watch this for class, and I probably wouldn’t have seen it otherwise. It’s a movie that’s definitely a product of its time; it’s outdated yet modern at the same time. It shows how life can be lived and experienced, good and bad. Apparently they didn’t have a script going into the movie, and you can tell. It’s very disjointed and go with the flow. There’s not really a story, you just kinda watch these two hippies live life. They also apparently used real drugs when shooting some of it, and you can also tell cause some of the stuff they talk about feels extremely realistic to what weed will do to a guy lol. I found the no plot, just vibes aspect of it a little lackluster and boring. It didn’t really feel like a movie worth showing until Jack Nicholson shows up talking about bitches and aliens. He got an Oscar nom for this movie, which he’s very worthy of since he’s easily the most interesting part of it. I thought it was boring throughout most of it, but I can’t deny that it’s really emblematic of the American dream and the good and bad that comes with that. The world is so different from back then, yet so much is still the same. The ending is pretty great, but unfortunately I didn’t think the rest of it did a good job of building to that point.
