This film is very reminiscent of French Connection, another crime thriller by William Friedkin, and I even think that in terms of narrative construction, French Connection is a more complete film, but I really liked how To Live and Die in L.A. does not have a crime narrative as complex, takes advantage of this simplicity to work on top of a very direct crime action, where this action is responsible for shaping the characters (police officers), they become so obsessed in the midst of violence and crime, that they end up increasing and even being part of this chain of crimes. This film is full of incredible action scenes, I love its frenetic vibe and the soundtrack goes well in this way, it is a stylization that is very cool, but at the same time it highlights a certain rot and hopelessness, especially in post-action moments. Of course, I have to highlight the car chase scene, which is definitely one of the best chase scenes I've ever seen. A full plate for those who like police thrillers, I highly recommend it.
