Just really damn delightful.
Director: Rob Reiner Starring: Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin Story: Westley must rescue his former lover, Princess Buttercup, both from a group of kidnappers and from her fiancé. Pros: - Perfectly cast. This really is some of the best casting ever, every single person is perfect for their role - Great action- the duel between Inigo and Westley is particularly well choreographed - The romance feels real and beautiful - Expertly crafted and paced - Blends action, humor, and heart really well - Endlessly quotable Cons: - While I do really like most of the score, it’s often much to synth-y for me - Some dated effects - The ROUS’s feel a bit unnecessary
Wow, I didn't expect the movie to be THIS FUN. What a wholesome parody!! Normally this would be way too cheesy for me, but this time it just...worked. "My Name is Inigo Montoya. You Killed My Father. Prepare to Die"...DAMN. Did not expect that scene to work as it did. Gave me chills. It's funny, romantic and awesome.
