The MASTERPIECE... A morally ambiguous narrative that concludes the epic crime drama. The parallels and non-linear storytelling of Vito & Michael Corleone symbolises how a father had built an empire and a family, loyal to each other. Then, a son tries to protect his family and keeps it together, only to find that he loses everything including his humanity. I loved the morally & psychologically complex characters and the way it has been weaved together. Francis Ford Coppola has made such a MASTERPIECE of cinema that is a culturally, historically & aesthetically significant piece of exceptional filmmaking and storytelling brilliance. The slow and steady pace slowly grows on you which shows how simple it looks yet how difficult it is.

Making a sequel that can manage to live up to the expectations of the original is an achievement in itself. But when the original film is being universally hailed as the greatest motion picture ever made, measuring up to that same feat is undeniably a near impossible task. But then, that’s exactly what The Godfather Part II manages to accomplish by building upon the original in ways most sequels never dare to and is possibly the only film in existence that has the calibre to challenge the reputation of The Godfather. On an overall scale, everything about this sequel just works. It is more star-studded than the first film and all the filmmaking methods introduced in The Godfather appear seamlessly evolved in this second part. And from start to finish, this masterpiece improves upon the original in such impressive ways that not only it succeeds as a successful follow-up to its predecessor but also shares the same class of greatness with it and both films, since their inception, have been highly instrumental in influencing its genre as well as cinema aesthetics. Displaying greatness in all aspects of filmmaking, Certainly the greatest & most respected sequel of all time and one of the greatest treasures of world cinema, The Godfather Part II comes one hundred percent recommended. ★★★★★ - All time favorites (10/10)

It's my favorite film of all time & I'll never love a movie but there's 2 questions that needs to be answered: Did a communion party need to be THAT BIG? & Can we one day receive a spinoff into Black Turtle Neck Guys clothes shopping extravaganzas? Other than that, it's the greatest movie ever made

The gold phone in Ocean's 13 that Pacino wants so bad has got to be an homage to this movie. From a courtroom procedural that felt so real to me to Nino Rota's music that I want to play everywhere I go, Godfather 2 doesn't disappoint at all. We explore loyalty and family at a level that not even Dom Toretto practices. Pacino settles into his role as the godfather very well. That combined with the twists and turns throughout the expert story are what make this a classic for me. I enjoyed this a bit more than the first one and was consistently entertained. Another great film I finally got to. 296/500 movies & tv for 2024
