Wes Anderson can be very hit and miss for me. I love the visuals of it all, I’m very impressed by the intricacy of how he makes his movies and the use of colour and positioning. However this film really lacked any heart for me, it was quite emotionless and meandering.

i thoroughly admire wes anderson and his art, but his films are usually not for me. this one was no exception, while it is visually stunning every time, only the first and last stories made me interested.

A visual masterpiece bursting at the seams with talent both on and off the screen, "The French Dispatch" is a film by a director working at the absolute height of his powers. More importantly, the film gave me one of the most enjoyable theatrical experiences in a long time, with several rounds of applause from the Cannes crowd that seemed to be in love with the film as much as I was. I worry about how Anderson will be able to top this with his next film. But until then, I’ll stay in the present and be thankful that something this magical is allowed to exist in a world that only seems to get bleaker.

What a movie! It's a treat for folks who are serious about watching well made movies. It is a collection of stories or news articles that would go into the last edition of a newspaper. Fabulous performances and amazing storytelling. Would recommend to a mature audience.
