Una magnífica película. Así deberían ser todos los remakes, mantener solo la idea principal y que todo el resto sea distinto, así no nos encontraremos con desastres como el remake de "Psicosis"... Esta es una película con buenísimos efectos especiales y maquillajes, buen "gore" (aunque las escenas de transformación no sean sangrientas, yo sigo considerándolo gore), una historia bien currada y una acojonante parte final. Lo dicho, magnífica.

The Fly This David Cronenberg classic tells the story of Seth Brundle, a scientist developing a revolutionary transportation device that will take the world by storm! However, in a drunken mishap, transports himself, along with a common house fly, which then begins to transform him into a disgusting combination of both himself and the fly. Brundlefly, if you will! Where do I start with my shameless love of this movie?! Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis have brilliant chemistry from the start, showing the gradual attraction and love they have for eachother. It's worth pointing out as well, it's established very quickly and effectively without ridiculous dialogue for the audience. Remember a time when movies used to treat their audience like adults?! The movie almost feels like a play in the way it's set up. Only being in a small number of locations gives a very intimate feel to the film. Also, to watch this genius and cautious man fall into chaos and lose himself is a riveting watch. Something else this movie manages to do is, by the end, makes you actually give a shit about Gena Davis' absolutely misogynistic and unattractively jealous Ex, when he has his hand and foot melted off by Brundlefly! Amazing! Who thought by the climax of the movie you could experience real emotion? Using a massive animatronic man/fly, it shows true artistry of how to construct scenes and the importance of nuanced acting and direction. Cronenberg successfully manages to take the once B-movie body horror genre, and make it mainstream. In my opinion, The Fly is one of the rare times a remake turns out to be better than the original, and has become a true staple of cinematic horror! 9/10 I'm saying Enjoy… or I'll hurt you if you stay!

Jeff Goldblum will play Seth Brundle (The Fly), his acting work is simply fascinating, the body wear he does is magnificent, an actor whose istrionism and gestures make him, along with Ian Malcolm (his character from Jurassic Park) be one of its most emblematic characters. A fascinating film, which has aged incredibly well, the makeup is top notch, great performances and grotesque scenes that you wanted....those of you with glass stomachs are warned! Aquí vemos a un Cronenberg desatado y en estado de gracia, una película que dentro del género de ciencia ficción y terror también se clasificaría en el subgénero del horror corporal, no sólo por los momentos de las grotescas alteraciones corporales que sufre nuestro protagonista. . ...pero también por el viaje psicológico...Nunca olvidaré aquella frase casi al final "Soy un insecto que soñó que era un hombre, y lo adoraba, pero ahora el sueño terminó y el insecto está despierto". "simplemente brutal, la frase que definiría la película en pocas palabras... ya que se ve la decadencia del hombre y como su cuerpo degenera poco a poco hasta que el humano que fue queda muy lejos y... parece que Cronenberg sí lo hizo. lo hace de forma intencionada, sobre todo poniéndonos en el lugar del personaje interpretado por Geena Davis, dándonos un paralelo de cómo las personas que nos rodean también sufren al ver los estragos causados por una enfermedad degenerativa. Jeff Goldblum interpretará a Seth Brundle (La Mosca), su trabajo actoral es sencillamente fascinante, el body wear que realiza es magnífico, un actor cuyo istrionismo y gestualidad le hacen, junto a Ian Malcolm (su personaje de Jurassic Park) ser uno de sus personajes más emblemáticos. Una película fascinante, que ha envejecido increíblemente bien, el maquillaje es de primera, grandes actuaciones y escenas grotescas que deseabas... ¡aquellos con estómagos de cristal están advertidos! Obra maestra de su género y una película que hay que ver pase lo que pase.
