The Bridges of Madison County is a film that takes advantage of this melodramatic novel very well to build the mise-en-scène itself, the disposition of the actors on screen says a lot about each of the characters, and how this relationship is becoming each time more and more intimate, when the actors and the camera get closer; Over time, these two (actors and camera) also end up becoming more "loose", as this utopian relationship becomes more concrete, the visuals become more playful, which creates a certain paradox. When the film started, I was even a little afraid that this "division" in four days would leave the rhythm robotic or "cauculously" orchestrated, but for my happiness, no, these slight formal variations of the film follow the phases very well of the characters, and they themselves are responsible for ensuring that the feature does not become repetitive. I really liked how the film articulates ideas that go against this "traditional" role (housewife) of women in society and how Meryl Streep's character becomes more and more "herself", it's a transformation of morally confused but charming and devastating character. Very beautiful film, great experience.
