Perfect... This is the perfectly written screenplay with all my sense of understanding the Cinema, in this film. The 8-bit game-like structure to the screenplay and the entire narrative, is a brilliant move to make it so entertaining that it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time while watching the film. It's a biographical thriller film, which is based on the real story of acquiring the worldwide rights of ‘Tetris game’ from Russia. I know that its screenplay and the plot setting has been fictionalised in between, to make it intriguing and even more entertaining. But still it's a wonderfully written and directed film, at least for me. The way it has captured the geopolitical multinational elements of the story and conveyed it with infotainment is extremely entertaining. Then the Background Score and Songs made it more captivating with its brilliant choices. It is truly brilliant storytelling which hasn't wasted even a second of mine.

Came across this by chance where I was avoiding it, assuming it purely video game based. It's absolutely not. Writers may have taken a bit of creative liberty in the story, but having said that It is very well written, directed, and acted. This is quite fast-paced and is almost a thriller (similar to Argo towards the end) Recommended to watch.

Who would’ve thought the origins of TETRIS would be this dramatic? Jon S. Baird’s sometimes convoluted, surprisingly true story about the popular video game gives Taron Egerton one of his liveliest roles yet. A stylish, slick tech flick that plays like an espionage thriller. The story behind the battle to get Tetris distributed is surprisingly involved and complicated. The film would likely have benefited from some trims, as it loses some of its intensity due to repetition as it plays out. There's only so many times we can watch Henk return to a room to try and close negotiations before we just start wanting a resolution to happen. Director Jon S. Baird makes a lot of conventional decisions, but the subject matter and some of the visual flourishes (the use of pixels is employed in a fun way in a car chase for instance) raise Tetris above mediocrity. ★★★½ - very good (7/10)
