Cillian Murphy’s first movie with a big bomb and almost everything works here with a great cast, great score, and a twist that while fun works a little less than the rest. Also given how often movies now have 200 million dollar budgets or more while having obvious and crappy visuals this movie on what would now be considered a micro budget looks spectacular due to giving through time and planning to the effects.

Boyle's direction and Küchler's cinematography are standout elements of Sunshine. The film is visually stunning, with breathtaking shots of the spaceship hurtling through space and the sun's intense, awe-inspiring beauty. The performances from the cast are also very good. Sunshine delves into the psychological aspects of space travel and isolation. The interpersonal dynamics among the crew members are explored, revealing the toll that such a mission takes on their mental states. The film raises questions about the consequences of our actions and highlights the fragility of the human psyche when confronted with the vastness and harshness of space. The third act is definitely a bit strange, preventing this movie to be a 5/5 for me.
