John Watts new Star Wars series which introduces a new planet and new takes in the Star Wars Universe. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. It's reasonably well written, there is some explanation of why there is no mention of the rest of the events of the films and the characters are likeable. The problem is Jude Law's character, for some reason they couldn't decide what to do with him. Law is a very good actor and he does well with a character that is badly drawn on the page. The dark ending the character has doesn't really fit with the tone of the show however, Law raises the bar significantly. I'm glad they cast him. As far as the younger actors are concerned, they are excellent. Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Kyriana Kratter are particular standouts. The Goonies vibe is appealing to an 80s kid like me. Particularly from a humorous point of view, I laughed several times throughout the show. Given that it's a Lucasfilm joint the special effects are fantastic. The space parts of the show are vintage Star Wars and hints at where the franchise could go after the departure of Kathleen Kennedy later this year. I don't prescribe to misogyny directed towards her at all, I'm all for passion but the way she has been treated is a disgrace. I hope she has a happy retirement. Give this a watch, it's fun and Law's performance is worth it alone. So Star Wars has had middling reception over the past few years. I really feel it needs a turnaround soon, otherwise who knows what will come next. While this show isn’t the spark that the franchise needs at the moment, it’s still a nice past time to get by on. I enjoyed this show for what it was and had a great time with it. The kids took some getting used to, but each of them received enough proper growth and development to really come around to them. I’m ultimately satisfied with how far each of them came. But the big star of course has to be Jude Law as Jod. A charming, charismatic swashbuckler who hides a tragic yet sinister duality, Jod is probably one of the better characters to emerge from a Disney Star Wars project. Overall, while this show didn’t have that it factor that will have many talking, I had a good time with it and am sad to see it’s been hit hard by low viewership. Should this show get cancelled, I hope there will be some way to incorporate these characters into future projects going forward.

Skeleton crew is the perfect cross between The Goonies and the Star Wars saga. It manages to mix originality and recycling in a good way. The story is nice and makes you want to know more given its ending. The direction is not bad, we have different directors on the series like Jon Watts, Bryce Dallas Howard, David Lowery, Les Daniels... As for the casting, it's good for children who are starting out in cinema, we have a little trouble at the beginning but as we go along we appreciate them. For Jude Law, damn his character is great and his acting is crazy but what did I love seeing him and I would like to see his character again and know more. There are little gestures in the series that are nice But no fan service. A really nice series where we travel a lot with short episodes but oh well too bad.
