Dark, damn dark! This movie seems to be a gritty disturbing look at how children can get caught up in the horrors of drug wars and cartels, from young children being directly involved and recruited, to constant shots of children being involved in horrific violence. hard to watch but amazingly crafted.

Sicario: Day of Soldado came roaring out of the gate with gritty action and promise but fizzled out so quickly. …..it started so strong. Brolin’s cold-hearted Matt Graver and Del Toro’s deadly Alejandro get to take the gloves off and unleash hell on the drug cartel that killed Del Toro’s daughter. Gunfights, kidnappings, assassinations, and missiles litter the film with a heart-pounding pace until halfway through the movie. Then it all stops - the action, the story, the interest, everything. I’m not sure what was even happening. Why was the kidnapped victim suddenly cool with hanging out with the man that took her? Why did he decide to stop following her? Why did the movie end so abruptly? The idea of these two morally bankrupt men waging a war of revenge on a drug cartel sounded amazing! Unfortunately, Sicario: Day of Soldado ran out of plot and momentum in the middle of the film and never recovered.
