Pushpa represents a standard gangster drama that traces the evolution of its primary character. Here, we have an added element related to smuggling. The different methods the hero uses to smuggle are a common trope. Even with some characters feeling incomplete, the world of Pushpa keeps the momentum going in the initial segment. The plot detailing his rise and the new difficulties he faces is done quite nicely. Although they lack impressive elevation, they are still not entirely flat. It remains at a halfway point, fueling anticipation for the second half. The difficulty of sustaining the original pace while creating a fresh conflict and villain stands out. The concept of 'brand' (Inti Peru) from the maternal perspective is good, but it seems hurried since not enough time was dedicated to it. There's an overwhelming amount packed in too quickly. The film features overly prolonged scenes and subpar editing, culminating in a feeble cliffhanger. DSP Shekhawat's character did not sound like a suitable rival to Pushpa, weakening the anticipation for the sequel. Overall, Pushpa presents a typical gangster narrative centered around the main character's rise. As Pushparaj, Allu Arjun excels and carries the film on his back, whereas Sukumar's approach remains relatively predictable, with a few cleverly placed nuances throughout.
