I’ve never read the book the film is based on, but it must be nothing short of phenomenal based on how many times this film has been made. By all accounts, the story is an indisputable classic. Greta Gerwig, known for Lady Bird, is at the helm of this adaptation. Little Women follows the story of the March Sisters, four young free-spirited women, Meg (Emma Watson), Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Beth (Eliza Scanlen) and Amy (Florence Pugh), living with their mother. Even in the absence of the man of the house, the father, who is fighting in the ongoing civil war and despite the family struggling financially, they are always committed to social justice & responsibility. With unique ambitions and expectations in life, these four 'Little Women' (as their father used to call them in his letters) are an inseparable troupe. The film explores the events of happiness and tragedy, happening in the lives of the sisters as they chase their ambitions and the cost they pay for this. I also adore the fact that all four sisters are different, with their unique personality traits- morally vigorous Meg, daring Jo, sensitive Beth, and self-centred Amy and aspirations- actress Meg, writer Jo, pianist Beth, and painter Amy. Gerwig adopts a non-linear zigzag structure for her story that jumps between two periods in the lives of Jo and her family. With the talented actors onboard, Gerwig has produced one of the most powerful, heartwarming & kindhearted tales of generosity. This is only possible when one knows the source material inside-out and Gerwig's passion for this film is pretty much evident. She encapsulates various themes subtly throughout the film. Sprinkled throughout the lavish two-hour and fifteen-minute film are references to women’s struggle between familial duty and personal growth.

Mujercitas. AÑO 2019, REMAKE DE LA PELICULA DE 1994 Y EN MI CASO . DISFRUTE MAS LA REMAKE QUE LA ORIGINAL,PERO DE IGUAL MANERA MAÑANA ANALIZAREMOS LA ORIGINAL. La historia trata de Joe, una jovencita poco convencional a lo que su época y la sociedad exige, ya que no está interesada en casarse, quiere progresar por sí sola, convertirse en una gran escritora y que cuida de su familia, sus hermanas con quienes tiene cariño y conflictos, quienes cuida y aconseja junto a su madre mientras ella también tiene sus problemas. El elenco es excelente, saoirse ronan, florence pugh y Timothée Chalamet cumplen con sus roles a la perfeccion. Emma Watson hizo lo que pudo y no salió mal parada, pero al lado de saoirse ronan y florence pugh fue muy notorio el nivel actoral. La película no es lineal, hace saltos hacia atrás en el tiempo y a veces va paralelo a algunos eventos, por lo que hay que prestar atención para saber en si estamos en la niñez o en la edad adulta de las protagonistas, ya que no se indica con fechas, pero si te fijas en los vestuarios y los comportamientos de las protagonistas, ya sabrás si estás en el presente o pasado. Esta versión de mujercitas tiene una calidad excepcional en cuanto a ambientación, música, vestuario y escenografía en comparación a la versión anterior. Vi la versión de 1994 y si de cierta manera es superior por que además de tener un elenco de primera, su narrativa ese excepcional. es muy disfrutable, pero aún así lo único que no me gusto fue su final, agarrándose de un personaje que había sido olvidado por la trama, la solución del final fue apresurada y forzada. Me gustó la narrativa, pese a que a otros eso les ha molestado, a mi particularmente me pareció interesante el paralelismo que se daba entre el pasado/presente,Prestemos atención y listo , no todas las películas tienen que ser lineales, armemos la historia en nuestra cabeza. The cast is excellent, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet fulfill their roles perfectly. Emma Watson did what she could and did not come out badly, but next to Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh the acting level was very noticeable. The film is not linear, it jumps back in time and sometimes runs parallel to some events, so you have to pay attention to know if you are in the childhood or adulthood of the protagonists, since it is not indicated with dates, but if you look at the costumes and behavior of the protagonists, you will know if you are in the present or past. This version of Little Women has an exceptional quality in terms of setting, music, costumes and scenery compared to the previous version. I saw the 1994 version and in a certain way it is superior because in addition to having a first-class cast, its narrative is exceptional. It is very enjoyable, but even so the only thing I did not like was its ending, clinging to a character that had been forgotten by the plot, the solution of the end was rushed and forced. I liked the narrative, although others have been bothered by it, I personally found the parallelism between past/present interesting.
