A great ensemble cast puts together enough comedy in this to keep it from being depressing but hits the points to show the harsh reality of the law for black folks at this time. Murphy & Lawrence play very well off of each other and parallel to the story it takes a while for that to settle in too. Worth a watch for a few laughs and a good story with only a few problematic pieces. 27/365 movies/TV/seasons for 2023
