Scottie Pippen jumpscare got me! Another great showing from Spike Lee and Denzel where even Ray Allen delivers a solid performance. I love this movie. Big Time Willie's breakdown of all the perils of a young man entering the real life of fame and fortune is a wild montage and the "everybody wants a piece of you" toll played on Jesus (Allen) comes from every angle. The cinematography is always great from Lee and this score was magical the entire movie - really showing how impactful basketball is to those who love it and need it. I'm a little disappointed we didn't get a double dolly shot until the credits though. 24th Denzel of 2024 153/500 movies & tv for 2024 Denzel Ranked
