Frankly, while Sherlock does a better job at adapting individual Sherlock stories (Hound of the Baskerville's and Scandal in Belgravia say hello) but Elementary's dive into Sherlock's mind and emotions puts it head and shoulders above. Also considering the fact that the show pulls off the riskiest swerve in the entire show in regards to Moriarty and sticks the landing to a incredible degree. Because of this twist, it really taps into Jonny Lee Miller's emotional performance and just how intertwined and twisted Holmes and Moriarty are with each other. If nothing else, Elementary balances Holmes's inherent sociopathy with genuine humanity thanks to his growing friendships with Watson, Bell and Gregson. And yea the show does struggle a bit with House Syndrome in later series where the cases get so mental that it kinda becomes a bit hard to take the show seriously. Except for Reinbachach Falls that's the shows best episodes. overall, an absolute must watch for any fan of Sherlock.
