Bastante normalita, me esperaba mucho más de esta película. No es que haga mucha gracia, debería de tener más humor negro. La animación, los escenarios y tal estan muy bien, pero aún los superan los de "Pesadilla Antes De Navidad". La musica bastante bien, excepto cuando cantan, no sé si debido a la traducción. Y por lo demás... yo me hubiera quedao con la muerta xDDD

If you love The Nightmare Before Christmas you’ll like this too. Its a great movie similar to its predecessor, yet not exactly the same, but with the same Tim Burton animated creepy dark vibes. Its a quick watch and speeds along nicely, never boring and always fun.

Corpse Bride is my favorite work from burton’s filmography. it’s got a creepy gothic atmosphere, yet blends beautifully with such a straightfoward storyline that is easy to understand with a light-heartened tone. it’s script provides growth for it’s characters and gives charm to a vast majority of them, with it’s titular lead providing the themes of loss & empathy quite expertly, added with lovely chemistry with the male lead: victor. it’s performances provide a wide range of emotion, laughter, energy, sympathy, confidence, and so much more with both johnny depp & helena boham-carter providing fantastic performances, given the driven motivation for their characters, are able to create relatability for the audiences. danny elfman provides a fantastic musical score meshing upbeat music, dramatic tones, whimsical and charming moments altogether. the production utilizes it’s animation style with seamless stop-motion effects to masterclass, the settings, locations, character designs all feel uniquely crafted and wonderfully match the 1800's gothic nature. the cinematography offers haunting imagery, and a sense of contrast between the real world’s dull environments to the underworld’s more lively colorful inviting atmosphere. the effects mixes between sets of stop motion and a slight use of 2d animation that works nicely. In the end, corpse bride offers the best in Tim Burton's filmography and one of the best stop-motion animatied films made. IT’S filled with so much to love from it's charming & memorable characters, a fun & relatable story, great musical work, relatable themes, and phenomenal animation that makes the overall story worth watching..

Animation, casting, coloring, themes, and style are all just so perfect. Had to research Mike Johnson, the co-director, and he's done some great work in animation on the PJs, Anomalisa, and a few Primus videos. I was really blown away by how great this looks in 4K and the colors that jump out of the afterlife compared to the black & white of the living realm was such a tremendous juxtaposition for things. The story and character arcs take some fun turns and any time you can enjoy Richard E Grant is a fun time. I'm sure we'll rewatch this, so next time I gotta pay more attention: the musical numbers lose me. 456/500 movies & tv for 2024

8.5/10 Visually alone, it's great. The character designs are all super interesting and unique. The color palette in the land of the living is drab and muted (which the golden ring stands out in), which contrasts the colorful underworld. That's another thing this movie does well: contrasts and reversals. There's a contrast between Victor and his parents, Victoria and her parents, and even the living world and the underworld (which is seen in the music, the color palette, etc.). The scene where Victor apologizes to Emily is a reversal of Victor meeting Victoria. This all works very well. The songs, while it feels like there are only a handful, are all at least solid. The score, as well, is good. Victor is a bit of an asshole for lying to Emily and all, but it's good that he turns around and you start to feel for him, as well as Victoria and Emily. The one problem I have here is Lord Barkis. He feels very similar to the cinematic version of Count Olaf from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, which only came out a year before this. He also doesn't really do much until the final act. Thankfully, all the death puns they make here are funny.
