Una película muy currada, con muchos toques a lo Burton, aunque no me pareció de lo mejor de su cine, ni mucho menos. Una historia muy original, aunque muy plana. Lo mejor, la fotografía, sin duda, y atención al pequeño pero gran papel de Christopher Lee. El enano cantarín es odioso.

The original movie is absolutely incredible, I’m still not sure why it needed to be remade I guess if anyone is going to pull of the insane imagination needed for it then it is Tim Burton. Deep was a good casting but none of it really lived up to the movie it was trying to emulate.

As this movie is turning 20 years old later this year, I decided to review the movie that shocked me more and more every time I watched it growing up. In this film, Charlie, a young boy from an impoverished family, and four other kids win a tour of an amazing chocolate factory run by an imaginative chocolatier, Willy Wonka, and his staff of Oompa-Loompas. This movie creates a magical and exciting world with colorful visuals and interesting characters. Johnny Depp's performance as Willy Wonka is both fun and strange, showing his ability to transform into unique roles. His versatility as an actor really stands out to me. Tim Burton's creative touch is also clear in the amazing set design, which feels like a mix of fantasy and reality and helps pull viewers into the story. The actors add even more charm to the movie, especially Freddie Highmore, who plays Charlie. His honest performance makes the audience care about his journey. The movie also has a good sense of humor, blending its quirky style with funny moments to keep viewers entertained from start to finish. To conclude, this movie holds a special place in my heart not just for its charming storytelling, but also because it’s as old as me. It feels as though it has grown alongside me, making it even more meaningful. Score: 8/10

More accurate to the book and a lot of fun Burtonesque touches to this classic. Danny Elfman did not have to go that hard on the music, but I appreciate it nonetheless. 162/365 movies & tv for 2023
