Is an Indian film riddled with some great unexpected turns that in the second act actually add to its overall entertainment value and caught me somewhat off guard. Although the series' plot twists and tone shift towards something more sinister are great, I however think Raghavan could have done a better job of directing by focusing more on the thriller elements during this part of the film instead of forcing humor that removes a lot of the great tension he build up. The cinematography is very good, and the music is mostly catchy, although i’m not a fan of the singing in Bollywood movies. The two leads, Khurrana and Tabu, have a genuine and enjoyable on-screen romance and chemistry, and they handle the film's major plot twist with ease, making the subsequent development of their relationship come easily. All in all this was another pretty good Bollywood movie ★★★½ - very good (7/10)

Sriram Ragahvan's dark comedy was a smash hit at the time of its release and I decided to revisit it in after watching his latest feature Merry Christmas. It does hold a good rewatch value but 5 years down the line I noticed quite a few things which I probably hadn't during my first watch, albeit both flaws and strengths. The strength of Andhadhun clearly lies in a script that shifts genres, going from a rom-com to a dark comedy to finally a thriller with numerous twists and turns, which certainly feel a lot as they just keep on coming. The staging of scenes to build tension at times was brilliant, complemented beautifully by the score and wonderful use of needle drops. But what keeps everything bound together are the brilliant performances from Ayushmann and especially Tabu, who steals the show with her portrayal of Simmi. Raghavan also loves to add a lot of details and Easter eggs throughout his film with references and foreboding symbolism. The film suffers from uneven pacing & Ragahvan's insistence to cut away from a scene very quickly, not allowing scenes to breathe in the first 20-30 minutes of the film. In retrospect I can understand why people must have been amused at the dialogues littered with references, but now it feels too heavy handed aiming for a quick laughter at most times.
