Alien is a great film. Everything, especially the spaceship, looks so convincing and well-crafted that, even as a science fiction movie from the 1970s, it has withstood the test of time. Unfortunately, aliens and spaceships are not really my thing, and the characters’ decision-making really bothered me. Many of their decisions were outright dumb, and it pissed me off. I was particularly annoyed by the final scenes where Ripley is shown taking off her clothes and wandering around almost naked. It felt completely gratuitous.

Bueno, es un clásico, eso está claro, pero hoy día raya bastante en el aspecto de la ciencia-ficción, sobre todo por ese superordenador gigantesco lleno de lucecitas que no sirven para nada y los botones (de digital nada) más grandes que las radios de mi abuelo. Bueno, los efectos especiales bastante logrados, (otra cosa que no entiendo es el porqué le dan a autodestrucción y la nave empieza a soltar humaderas y llamaradas por todos lados, que paranoia...) Los aliens dan miedo y el ambiente muy logrado.

An absolute classic in the horror genre, you can really see things in this movie that changed the game and have been adopted by every horror film since. The suspense is still intense, and despite parts of the special effects looking a bit dated now the writing is unquestionably great.

This one is a classic for its time and has been copied in style and format mat many times. The original sci-fi horror. So what's it all about? A mining ship deep in space is woken up early from hypersleep on its journey back to earth in response to a distress call from a remote plannet. What they discover on investigation is a large alien ship which inside holds hundreds and hundreds of egg like pods. When one of the crew is attacked by the content of one of these eggs that seemingly impregnated like a parasite, another creature inside its human host. The outcome is terrifying for those onboard as this new creatures intentions become apparent, and each crew member is stalked and picked off one by one. Epic film and still holds well today.
