Adam Sandler is always great, I watched a lot of his works and I love how he acts in those type of comedies. The plot is surely different from others and I appreciate the way of showing a difficult reality for Lucy. The movie is funny and absolutely enjoyable.

Henry Roth is a marine veterinarian who falls in Love with Lucy an art teacher. However, the unexpected happens and Lucy doesn't remember who Henry is as she has short term memory loss. Can Henry convince her to fall back in love with him ever day? Themes are: Love memory and family. Adam Sandler is amazing in the role as Henry as he fully embodies the Love struck boy who tries to find love in an impossible situation. Througout the film, you can see and feel his pain and loss as he keeps trying to make Lucy love him. It's so impactful espiaclly in the 3rd act as he looses her forever. He is also very funny in one scene and his character is very relatable. Drew Barrymore also is fantastic in the role as Lucy as she shows differnt emotions to the same situation and it's pulled off splendidly. Espiaclly with all the times she has to remember you can feel a poin in your heart when you know that she is not going to remember any of this the next day. It truly hurts. The side characters are alright. Some are a bit annoying but had less screen time which was good. The Father and brother was entertaining to watch. There are some great establishing and wide shots with the boat scenes, espically the ending where you see the icy mountains. I was confused about the singing and didn't know that it would play a major part in the film. It felt unnecessary and rushed as if they only put it in so Henry would get a happy ending. My standout part was how gripping the emotional beats were and how they are very impactfull and acknowledge that there are people in the world suffering with memory loss. Which is great that it's spreading that type of awareness. Overall, I wouldn't say it's funny but the plot is very impactfull and grounded with serious topics sprinkled throughout which a comedy dosn't really do that much. So it's unique in that sense but I would just give it a watch, nothing special.

Tried to watch this for a family movie night. Not yet for an 8 year old. While there are glaring issues with 50 First Dates, I can't be mad for long because there is quite a bit to like. I think Segal allows too much in the effort of a joke that they get tired quick and wear at me too much. Barrymore's performance is pretty perfect and the relationship with her dad is so cute I get choked up. I think the premise and turnaround of Henry is noteworthy and Sandler conveys a quick change from scumbag to romance well. I could do without the trans and homophobic quips and Rob Schneider could be wiped from this entire movie, but I still enjoyed the love story and the music even if it's appropriated as well. 339/500 movies & tv for 2024

Great laughs, ridiculously fun characters, and a sweet story make 50 First Dates a fantastic date night movie. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore bring their zany chemistry back together again to make my favorite Adam Sandler movie and one of the most entertaining RomComs a couple could enjoy. 50 First Dates delights with its ridiculous and heartwarming characters. Rob Schneider and Sean Astin’s characters are by far the most outrageous and most fun parts of the film. The far-fetched premise of 50 First Dates perfectly lends itself to some hilarious moments and, ultimately, an endearing story of love overcoming even the most challenging of obstacles. 50 First Dates perfects the Adam Sandler formula with extremely satisfying and humorous results.
