Cojonuda, con un ambiente muy muy cuidado al más puro estilo del cine clásico, muy buenos efectos visuales, grandes actuaciones y más gore de la cuenta para una película ¨comercial¨. Por cierto, ¿hay alguien que no se diera cuenta de que el hombre lobo era el padre del protagonista? Yo creo que se sabe desde el primer momento...

This one has a unique history for myself. I had gone to the theatres for another movie but my friend and I were early and had about 40 minutes until our movie was to begin seating (before reserved seating). so we stepped into the wolfman that was just starting. We had a unique vision of a lowered bar and not expecting much for a silly name to us at the time while we waited… and boy were we wrong. The strong start and the setting (I’m a sucker for old settings from 1600s Europe to Victorian era) peaked my curiosity. when it was time for us to leave for our movie I didn’t want to go. but I remember being so impressed I did manage to get it right when it came out on dvd to finish the story. The story moves along, the small village on the outskirts of Victorian London, the references to one of my all time favourite stories the beast of gervudan, and a nod to Jack the Ripper killings compliment the feature meat that is the lead character’s search for what happened to his brother and what becomes his new mantle of what has happened to him, and what he has become. The story centres on a reunion of sorts for the main family but at the same time in this grand estate a feeling of isolation and Erie halls echo a sense of distance that no physical proximation can broach. The lead up to the final act plays with a longer explanation of this curse orbiting the family even when it is not known what it is, something is there. and the dismissal for traumatic events to unfold fanatical explanations to a child, a child also has no filter and may be seeing things as plain as they are. I rewatched this in which was a treat to watch above my dvd copy I did break out to start watching. The gothic visuals are strong and a treat to lose myself in. a fun watch for anyone a fan of the classic monsters, and the music is echoes that early film era .

Si es cierto que ha habido muchas versiones de Hombres Lobos, una de las que tengo más recuerdo es la del 2010 con Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt y Hugo Weaving. Ahora bien, la película a pesar de tener sus fallas tiene actuaciones grandiosas, una historia de amor y traición y obviamente un factor sobrenatural. Hopkins siempre soberbio en sus actuaciones y está claro que Benicio del Toro no desentona. Una película con buena dosis de gore, suspenso y con esa acción, que en lo personal me hubiera encantado ver una secuela, pero viendo a Hugo Weaving sobre llevar está maldición.
