Welllllllll It had potential, it had a fair bit of emotion and weight, but nothing that really hit me in the feels properly. one of the rare animated movies that had all the pieces in place but didn’t quite pack the punch it needed to for me to consider it great.
Rarely Disney uses the resource of comedy as effectively as it did in Bolt. I don't remember another movie that has caused me so much fun with situations as simple as this one does. The naive Bolt is involved in action sequences that give a different flavor to this children's film. The first act surprises in a good way in this sense, even making you doubt if you are watching the right movie. Already in the second and third acts, Disney makes its mark and reminds you that they are under the production of this film, there is a song so unnecessary that it screams Disney everywhere. The animation is generally good, there are landscapes with a credible level of realism, however my complaint at this point is in the explosions. There is a trio of pigeons that had the potential to be in better gags but they were quite toned down and left forgotten by the main plot. The film is fun, it's entertaining, the characters are charismatic and endearing. With a couple more adjustments it would have been one of the great films to highlight in the great Disney filmography, but it remains just another of the bunch. Recommended to spend a pleasant moment with family but it becomes forgettable and urges you to look for another new story.
