Not the best, but it's nice. A good feel-good drama with lots of humour and emotions. Put your logics aside and watch. I really enjoyed it. It has some beautiful moments.
Its not terrible, but im not sure why it has the cult following it does. It’s hard to understand how Lindsey Lohan was a better actor when she was about 10 than she is now! The twin stuff is pretty cool for the year, but the story itself is soooo slow, its not for me.
I know this technically isn’t the original, and for all counts it might not be better than the original, however this is the version I grew up, therefore it does have special place in my childhood. Funny enough, it kinda took me rewatching this movie to realize that I grew up quite a lot watching Lindsay Lohan. A lot of my praise goes towards her as well, since being a child actor is no easy feat, specially considering how both the audience and industry love to destroy them. Lindsay is so fun and distinguishable in playing both roles that up until I was a teenager I thought they were actually twins in real life. The movie is at its best when she’s on screen, though I think the movie is at its strongest in the first act when both are up against each other. I also would like to point out that I can’t help but now as an adult feel a bit scummy towards the parents since I can’t imagine ever having children and separating them the way they did.
I need the love story of the butler and the nanny falling in love and talking shit about their bosses. The 90s were alive with remakes of old movies that had no business being remade. We rely on some solid editing and scenework from this team of magicians and a middle-school stage level of a British accent from a young Lohan. The baffling decision for two parents to just pick a baby and split up forever is really dark and would create lifelong trauma that neither of these girls would ever recover from. But there's horseback riding, a potential attempted murder, and a vineyard so these top percenters can have their happy ending with no accountability for their absurd actions. Very realistic! 272/500 movies & tv for 2024
