Well for starters this isn’t a review. On Valentine’s Day, it is a tribute to one of the most romantic movies of Bollywood. A movie which ceases to age even after 25 years of its release. A movie which was liked by people across generations. A movie which really inspired you to fall in love.. (Come fall in love.. was it’s tagline) Before we ask you about your memories of this movie, we wanted to share some of the trivia associated with it. Some known, some unknown.. - SRK wasn’t the first choice to play Raj. Aditya Chopra wanted Tom Cruise to play the lead. Yash Chopra didn’t agree and then it was offered to all the Khans - Aamir, Salman, Saif but King Khan had his destiny written on it. - The movie started the trend of long movie names with a cool acronym. Post DDLJ, we had KKHH, K3G, RHTDM, KANK and so on.. - Among lot of firsts, this movie had a unique credit of ‘Title suggested by’. The credit went to Kirron Kher. - You must have heard that Aamir Khan doesn’t attend Award Ceremonies. Well this movie was the root cause of it. SRK won the Filmfare award for best actor for DDLJ which Aamir thought should have gone to him for Rangeela. - A known fact for it being the movie to run for the longest time in any Theatre - Maratha Mandir in this case.  Now comment and tell us what are your memories or trivia of this cult movie. Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) & Simran (Kajol) started of on a wrong note but subsequently fell so much in love that they were ready to face Simran’s strict dad (Amrish Puri) for being together. An approach that is was quite different, not of eloping and disregarding the parents but to make a place in their hearts. The shift in Raj from being a rich spoilt brat to serving elders at his lover’s wedding functions is to die for. It’s comic, romantic and emotional and each feeling is portrayed magically. At the end, your heart goes out to the couple in love so much so that you are more relieved when Simran’s dad says “Jaa Simran jaa” than Simran herself. A beautiful love story with amazing star cast, perfomances, songs and locations. Shot partially in Europe and then Punjab, it’sa treat for sore eyes.
