As an elder millenial, I was offended that Tubi didn't have captions loaded for this. Had to get to this because of Ayo's recommendation, seeing Caan in the Godfather, and just genuinely wanting to see it. I can't say that I'm a big Michael Mann fan, but I think this has a ton of elements that I love. I could not get enough of the dialogue-free, tense moments and really enjoyed Caan's no nonsense way that he approached the role. The story is predictable but the scenes are deeply engaging and even the other Belushi is pretty good. Was also surprised Dennis Farina had such a small role (I did always kinda like him on Law & Order) and to get Willie Nelson. While Thief has quit a few parts of a classic I don't think it's one I'll be clamoring to rewatch. 297/500 movies & tv for 2024
